Obituary for Opal Smith Layne

Opal Smith Layne age 89 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was a seamstress and a member of the Church of Christ for over 50 years.
Opal was born in Pike County, Kentucky on November 9, 1928 the daughter of the late Charlie and Zettie Stratton Smith.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ira Smith and five sisters Eva Thompson, Mae McCoy, Nora Tibbs, Reva Maynard and Darlene Porter.
She is survived by her son, Randell (Judy) Layne of Somerset, Kentucky and daughter, Marelyn K. (Steve) Clark of Lexington, Kentucky.
She is also survived by one sister, Lorna Doone Plymale of Lexington, Kentucky and two grandchildren, James Randall Layne and Steven Clark and four great-grandchildren, Xavier Layne, Cameron Layne, Eli Layne and Gavin Layne.
