Obituary of Joseph Dominic Valentino

Joseph Dominic Valentino, age 27 of Banner, Ky., formerly of Fresno, California passed away Wednesday December 5, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center following an automobile accident. He was born November 22, 1991 in Anaheim, California the son of Lisa Brazil Bankston and Thomas Valentino. Joseph was a full time nursing student, an athletic trainer, was formerly in charge of Campus Conservatives at University of Pikeville, a former member of the biology club and also of the University of Pikeville Baseball Team. More importantly he was a Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Pikeville.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Manuel Brazil and Joyce Milligan Brazil.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Haley Esquivel Valentino of Banner, Kentucky, his daughter, Mia Valentino; his mother, Lisa Brazil Bankston and her husband Daryl Bankston of Tollhouse, California, his father, Thomas Valentino and his wife Jeannette Valentino of Fresno, California, his step brothers, Joshua (Jocelyn) Brown of Coursegold, California, and Kyle (Bethany) Bankston of Eureka, California, Brothers-In-Laws, Austin Kelsey of LeGrand, California, and Logan Vandenack of Tollhouse, California, Sisters-In-Laws, Taylor Essquivel of Tollhouse California, Morgan Vandenack of Tollhouse, California, and Janeen Kelsey of LeGrand, California, Paternal grandparents, Judge Peter Valentino, and his wife Jan Valentino, and his Paternal Grandmother Virginia Valentino.
The active pallbearers are; Ron Brazil, Scott Brazil, James Sturgill, Jimmy Pitt, Chad Gassman, Shannon Wright, Ray Jones, Nick Hall, Shadd Walters, Jacob Sword, and Joe Morris.
The honorary pallbearers are; Ryan Garrison, Jeremy Bandy, Bryce Carden, Jake Sokoll, Sean Ryan, Steven Banks, Jonathan Banks, all the kids Joe has trained and coached, and all UPike Baseball Teams (all present and past players please wear your jersey)
The visitation will be at Pikeville First Baptist Church Tuesday December 11, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
The funeral service will be at the church Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with John Lucas officiating.
