Obituary for Robert "Bobby D." Carter

Robert “Bobby D.” Carter, of Harold, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

He was a disabled coal miner and a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Pikeville. He was also a former semi-professional boxer.

Bobby D. was born in Williamson, West Virginia on May 29, 1954 the son of the late James Dillard and Alma Trudy Lee Carter.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by, four sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Louise Carter, Alma Carter and Helen Carter and seven brothers, Alonzo Carter, Russell Carter, Jimmy D. Carter, Frank Honaker, John Glenn Carter, Clement Dillard and David Lee Carter.

He is survived by one son, Robert Carter and one daughter, Ebony Carter and four brothers, Gene (Yolanda) Carter of Houston, Texas, Jessie Alonzo Carter of Columbus, Ohio, Fred (Jennifer) Dillard of Williamson, West Virginia and John Dillard of Williamson, West Virginia and two sisters, Colletta (James) Files of Atlanta, Georgia and Wendy Thomas of Huntington, West Virginia and also a special nephew, Rev. Carl Johnson of Harold, Ky.
