Obituary for Roger Lee McComas

Roger McComas was born February 4, 1952, to the late Earnest “Buster” and Ella Hall McComas. He passed away April 19, 2019, leaving this worldly home for a better home in Heaven. Roger was a veteran having served during the Vietnam War and retired from the Mine Safety and Health Administration as a First-Line Supervisor. He was a member of Shepards Chapel and started his day with his Bible. You could find Roger from early in the morning until time for dinner on a daily basis sitting in the kitchen nook studying and writing notes about the Bible.

Other his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Yates; one sister, Brenda Banks; his father and mother in law, Claude and Laura Hinkle; four brother in laws, Charlie Ellis, Jonnie Atkins, Jimmie Banks and Larry Hinkle; two nephews, Johnny Atkins and Michael Banks. Roger will be traveling home with Mickey ,Sr.,”Big Mick”, his loyal canine companion of 12 years.

Roger leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Wanda Hinkle McComas and fur baby Mickey Jr.; his son and family, Ryan (Jamie) McComas of Huntington, WV. , and children, Haley, Hannah and Elijah McComas also Bryson, Kelsey and Braylea Whittington; his daughter and family, Crystal (Jerricho) McComas-Eversole of Brookville, IN., and children, Payton, Madison and Dalton Eversole; two sisters, Betty Atkins and Lisa Ellis; one aunt, Mary Perry Gibson, a very large host of nieces and nephews and two special people in Roger’s life, Tammy Burgess and Crystal Little, his cohorts in crime.
Roger will Sadly be missed by his family, friends, former co-workers and his neighbors.

Serving as Active Pallbearers will be: Ryan McComas, Jerricho Eversole, Payton Eversole, Kevin Banks, Matt Ellis and William Burgess.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Claude Hinkle, Ralph Hinkle, Dalton Eversole and Henry Burgess.
