Obituary for Robert "Bud" Dye

Robert Ferrell Dye, well known to his family and friends as “Bud” Dye, age 90, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, November, 4, 2017 after a brief illness at the Saint Joseph’s East Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on October 7, 1927 to the late William Ferrell and Hazel Soulyrette Dye, of Pike County, Kentucky.
Bud was a milk truck driver for 38 years with various dairy companies. He was a member of the Coal Run Church of Christ.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Charlene Hall Dye; one son, Robert “Bob” Dye; two sisters, Monique Justice and Helen Potter; and one brother, Arvil Earl Dye.
He is survived by three children, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren:
Daughter, Shari Cecil, of Lexington, Kentucky.
Son, Steve Dye, his wife LaVerne, of Coal Run Village, Kentucky.
Son, Mike Dye, his wife Pat, of Richmond, Kentucky.
Grandson, Scott Justice (Alison) Justice, of Lexington, Kentucky
Granddaughters, Melissa (David) McFaddin, Richmond, Kentucky; Stephanie (Nick) Roberts, Lexington, Kentucky; Sarah (Bryan) Goins, Pikeville, Kentucky; Sydney Dye, Miami, Florida; Taryn Cecil, Lexington, Kentucky.
Six Great Grandchildren, Houston and Sawyer Roberts, Isabel and Sophia McFaddin, Christian Justice, and Caroline Goins.
Bud is also survived by a special sister-in-law and brother in-law, Delores and David Schreiner of Gallatin, Tennessee, and many special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday night, November 6 beginning at 6 p.m. with Aaron Davis officiating, and funeral services scheduled for Tuesday, November 7 at 12 noon with Jerry Bliffen officiating at the J.W. Call Funeral Home, Pikeville, Kentucky. Burial to follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Kentucky.Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Justice, Rodney Hall, Greg Schreiner, David McFadden, Nick Roberts, Bryan Goins, Larry Hall, Frank Justice and Mark Maynard.
